Lori Long Woolard, Girl Singer
Lori has had a great love of music since the very beginning of her life. "Mom always tells me that I was singing before I could walk". She has performed for the Paramount's Carowinds, Razz-Ma-Tazz Musical Revue, Jesse Brown and Friends and has had the lead roles in several local musical productions including "The Pajama Game" and "Fiddler on the Roof". Lori thanks God every day that Doug asked her to join the Kings, and shortly after that, to be his wife.

David Price, Male Vocalist, Baritone
David began singing with his church choir, and prior to joining the Kings in 2000, was previously with Razz-Ma-Tazz Musical revue for 6 years. This association allowed him to travel and perform in Alaska, England, Scotland, Nova Scotia and on cruise ships. He and Diann, his wife of 27 years (and best friend since Junior High School), reside in Oak Ridge, N.C. David would like to thank the Kings for allowing him to sing his favorite style of music, for their friendship and for becoming his "family".

Jac Grimes, Band Manager, Co-Founder, Emcee and 2nd Trombone
Jac returned to playing the trombone in 1998 after a 28 year hiatus. In 1999, Jac, along with Doug Woolard, formed the Jamestown Big Band which became the Kings of Swing in the spring of 2000. He has also played with the Greensboro Concert Band, Greensboro Big Band, Brantley Bra,, and Jamestown Community Band. He currently plays with Jesse Brown and Friends and manages and plays with the Jamestown Brass, but his first musical love is managing and playing with the Kings.

Bill Hardin, Lead Alto Saxophone
Bill is a transplant from South Carolina now living in Clemmons, N.C. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Bill taught band in South Carolina a number of years ago, Now after several years of pursuing a business career, Bill is seeking to return to the classroom to teach to others what he loves - - music.

Roger Hill, Baritone Saxophone
Roger is a retired Air Force Pilot and also a retired business owner. He has been with the Kings since their formation in 1999, and can play bari, tenor, alto and soprano sac as well as clarinet. Roger enjoys music, books and playing golf in his native home of High Point, N.C.

Joe Lewis, Lead Trumpet
Joe has played trumpet over the years in various types of music including classical, concert, Broadway-type musicals, rock, polka, wedding and top 40's bands. He feels that Big Band music is the most challenging to perform for the trumpet, but also the most fun and rewarding to play. Joe has been with the Kings since their formation in 1999.

Ken Hollingsworth, 3rd Trumpet
Ken began playing trumpet in the 3rd grade and continued to play through high school in band and orchestra. Then, as with many musicians, he put down the trumpet and did not pick it back up until 10 years ago. Ken has been with the Kings since their formation in 1999. |

Lew Russo, Solo Trumpet
After serving in the Army, Lew attended North Park College in Chicago. He is now retired after dedicating 35 years to being a commercial photographer. Lew loves west coast jazz and being a grandpa.

Robert Myers, Lead Trombone
Bob has been a member of the Kings since the very beginning in 1999 and has played trombone with the Greensboro Concert Band for 25+ years, is a member of the Raleigh Concert Band and also plays with the Salem Community Orchestra in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Jesse Brown, 2nd Alto Saxophone
Jesse studied music at North Carolina A&T State University. He is retired from Green Ford Inc, in Greensboro. He also heads up a rhythm and blues band, Jesse Brown and Friends. Jesse has been with the Kings since their formation in 1999.

Donald Emmett Hayes, II, Drums
At age three, Don's father chased him down the aisle at the Apollo Theater because "I wanted to join the performers on stage". Fifty years later that feeling has not changed." In 2001, after a 25 year hiatus from playing, Don joined the Kings "Finally playing music for the soul that you learn with your head and play with your heart, sometimes sensuously other times lustily....and always with my best girl for the last 41 years, GretschN!"

Donald Bowden, 3rd Trombone, RETIRED
Don's first experience with the trombone was a cast-off horn from a cousin who passed it off to him. He is an original member of the Kings and has also played for Greensboro Concert Band, Razz-Ma-Tazz Musical Revue and many orchestras for Broadway-type shows. He loves swing music and says, "May it never die."

Randy Mintz, Bass Guitar [quasi-retired]
Randy joined the Kings in 2002, and loves playing jazz. He is the band director at Greensboro Day School and Canterbury School and teaches euphonium at Greensboro College. In January 2004, the GDS Jazz Band proudly shared a concert with the Kings. Randy has also played in the orchestra in over 30 musical theater productions in the Piedmont Triad area.

Terry Wood, 2nd Tenor Saxophone [Retired]
AKA Billy Bob, Terry occasionally play baritone saxophone and has recently picked up the habit of beating the drums (although not in public yet). A confirmed batchelor, Terry joined the Kings in 2000 and has since been known to play for a plate of mustard biscuits or french fried taters.
