Dear the Kings of Swing, My name is Courtney Bowman. You do not know me, but I have a love story to tell you. Four years and three months ago, my fiancee Robert Myers and I attended a concert by your band at the Jamestown Public Library. It was only our third date and we were both nervous and unsure of ourselves. However, your music loosened us up, and before long, we were up dancing and laughing. A woman in your band sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," and we sang along to it under the stars. It is now "our song," one that we sing to each other and leave on each other's answering machines. We fell in love that night and shared our first kiss. Through the years, we have looked back and we both said that was the night we fell in love. We have been together ever since. This Saturday night, Robert took me on a scavenger hunt. He blindfolded me and took me to several spots around High Point and Jamestown that we have special memories attached to. These spots included our favorite late-night snack spot, Sonic, and Kelly's gas station, where we love to get Cheerwine slushies. For the last spot, he walked me, blindfolded, up a paved path. He took off my blindfold at the top of the path. We were at the Jamestown Public Library, right in front of the fountain. He pressed "play" on a boombox and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" started playing. He got down on one knee and proposed, saying he fell in love with me in this spot and has loved me ever since. He had gotten the keys to the library, and he led me inside. There were 40 of our closest family and friends, ready to celebrate with us and our love. Kings of Swing, we owe a great degree of our happiness to you and your concert that night. We are getting married August 30, 2008. We would be honored if you would play at our wedding reception.
